91亚色传媒 Today volunteer contributors program
For more information about joining the program, contact Comfort Dorn, 91亚色传媒 Today managing editor.
The 91亚色传媒 Today volunteer contributors program is open to all 91亚色传媒 members who want to practice journalistic writing or explore the field of science writing for a general audience. Each year, we publish more than 150 articles written by contributors in the program.
How it works
Volunteer contributors sign a one-year contract stipulating that they will write at least three articles in the upcoming year. Anyone who has four or more articles published in a calendar year will receive a complimentary 91亚色传媒 membership for the following year.
Our volunteer contributors take a variety of assignments for articles to be published in the magazine and on our website. These include:
- Profiles of 91亚色传媒 members such as our annual award winners, MOSAIC scholars and others.
- News obituaries of members, focusing on contributions to science.
- Short summaries of papers in 91亚色传媒 journals.
- Longer articles about papers in our journals.
We also invite our contributors to submit essays on topics of interest to our members (particularly for special issues focusing on topics such as wellness and careers) and to share their ideas for other articles and feature stories. Volunteers have written several of our cover features in recent years.
All submissions written by contributors are thoroughly edited by professional journalists. We provide guidelines and coaching to help our contributors research and report their stories and become clearer, stronger and more engaging writers.
Our contributors hold the copyright to their work and may republish in other outlets according to our republishing guidelines.
91亚色传媒 Today welcomes submissions from all 91亚色传媒 members. However, the 91亚色传媒 Today volunteer contributors program offers a unique opportunity for any member who wants to strengthen their writing skills.
